On the topic of Sonny Umpad, I just got a copy of the Dog Brothers' "Grandfathers Speak 2" which is a documentary about him. I don't think it's as good as the first volume, but it is still well worth a look.

One of Sonny's lads was over here for a while, had good fun playing. He spoek of Sonny as an avid tinkerer, he carved just about everything he had.
Occasionally he'd decorate sticks or handles to sell on, but mostly because he loved to personalise his weapons.
Have seen clips from the Grandfather speaks 2, looks good. |
