Here's a question for you.
What do you think is the single most important thing/item/technique/method the late GM Remy Presas gave to the FMA as a whole?

Hey Pat,
I think no matter what article you read or forum you read.I think the single most important thing that stands out would be Tapi-Tapi.
But then again I have been known to be wrong |

I will wait for some others to post then I will give my opinion and maybe put up a poll depending on what responses we receive.

Hi guys,
I think that the most single thing that Remy Presas gave to FMA is that he incorporated many different styles of other Martial Arts like grappling, tai boxing, judo etc into a workable system hence (modern arnis ) to which most styles of FMA have adopted the same . but thats only my opinion |

Well as it's a bit slow and only a couple of you brave guys have answered, here is my opinion.
It is a well known fact that the late great Prof Remy Presas invented the stick on stick method of training, up until that point everyone practiced the stick on hand method Now because of this the art as a whole was dying off, well think about it, your a begginer and your first class the instructor smack you on the hand every time you try something, your first thought is sod this for a game of soldiers I'm off.
So GM Remy noticed this was quite common and devised that if you hit the stick instead of the hand, more people stayed, hence he at one time had the largest organisation in the Philippines with his methods being adopted by countless schools and university's.
This also enabled more flow drills as many of you are aware, the vast majority of flow drills are stick on stick.
Now on seeing this method (stick on stick training) the majority of schools followed suite. And they too found more and more students stayed longer and learned more about their styles.
So to my mind the single most important method GM Remy gave us was the stick on stick training and it was the main reason I feel he called his system Modern Arnis as we all know what the Not Modern Arnis involved.
Just my thoughts

To tell you the truth guys I didn't realise that it was Remy Presas that introduced stick on stick to FMA.
Like you said Pat if he didn't then we would not have any students to play with at all either.(just the insane ones )
