I think no matter which part of the house I walk through, I am pretty sure I could put my hands on a stick, I dont do it through chioce and I certainly do not feel I have to have a weapon to hand just in-case someone comes into my house un-invited, I am just an FMA fanatic and have the tools of my trade all around me.

As for how many I would use if the need arose, none to start with but when the need arises just the one will suffice well until such time that I feel the need for 2 that is. And with 2 sticks and a bed sheet I can make him that much needed stretcher for when the ambulance turns up Twisted Evil

I , like Pat & Lucy, have a house littered with sticks, blades, wooden daggers.

Mostly picked up for Ad hoc training , demonstration & not put away.

However , I think if someone is in your house you are better off with knowing your house inside out as well as knowing where all your unconventional weapons are. e.g. small clocks, lamps etc.

I know you are talking about an intruder in the house, however there is a greter possibility that the person is known to you, dosnt have to BREAK IN, and may have you at a disadvantage in your own home.

So that you can clock the intruder around the head and give him a good ticking off! Laughing Laughing Laughing

As my grandaddy use to say:

"If I find you in my house at 4 am,
the police will find you in my house at 7......."

Hi guys,
I've never thought for the need to keep any sticks in or near the bedroom as like many of us my house is cluttered with various woapons such as swords and knives
But I also like the idea of household items such as the usefull bottle of bleach, wifes perfume, nitromorse etc these all work well as well as the corkscrew and fork Twisted Evil Twisted Evil
Think hard!!

Don't purposely leave anything out for home defence, but there's usually sticks lying around, books, chairs, a table, hell, if it's to hand I'll chuck a server at them! those things ain't light when they've got a fully populated RAID array.....

I figure if I can hold it, I can at least throw it at an intruder!

I got a beware of the wife mat on the doorstep, worked so far.

As for sticks, I got a few lying around, but to be honest I live in a small(ish) house, swinging a stick with any real venom is resricted by the walls and cupboards, for tight environments I generally resort to the good old fashioned MkI Hand, it's never out of reach and as far as I'm aware your legally allowed to carry not just one but two of the things.
