A NOTICE TO ALL THOSE TEACHING UNDER THE RAPID ARNIS ORGANISATION:
I have noticed recently that some of the instructors in the organisation have been dropping thier standards when it comes to grading their students for fighter levels and above.
As you know I expect more than most from all my people and have been forced to take these matters in to my own hands as I can no longer rely on some individuals judgement with regards to grading students.
I have noticed that when I see a person for the first time who is not training under me directly and they are turning up to grade in their senior level of Lakan Guro (Junior Instructor) there are some areas that could have been far better than they were, I have accepted that this was due to the fact thier instructor has not concentrated on certain areas (perhaps because it is not their strong point).
Due to this I have decided in the interests of keeping our standards high.
All candidates grading for Brown Belt 1 and above shall now grade directly under me so I can monitor their progress leading up to their instructor grade. This will benefit them in that I can show them what areas need to be worked on and what I expect from them once they test for their instructor level.
I will be looking for a venue where I can cerntralise the Brown Belt Gradings and other students at lower levels will also be allowed to come to these grading days, either to watch or test for their own grades on the day.
I will also expect all Brown Belts and above to attend the annual training camp so we can ensure they get the best instruction from all of the instructors in the organisation.
Those not attending the camps from now on in will have restrictions placed on their grading ability and if they continue they will be asked to leave.
We are now having to become stricter in our approach in order for us to maintain the high standards expected. Unfortunately this has been forced upon us due to a small minority of people droppping their own standards.
As you all know we have an open policy which allows all our members to train with anyone in any style and develop their own personal style and all we ask in return is to maintain the high standards we set.
In otherwords we still expect everyone to maintain their Rapid Arnis Training and standards to remain a member of the organisation.
Signed
Tuhon Pat O'Malley
Executive Chief Instructor
P.S. Do not forget that all grades must be registered at the Rapid Arnis HQ and ALL Certificates in Rapid Arnis can only be issued by the Head Quarters. |
