HI
I really enjoyed the training yesterday.
It was good after so many years of people running each other down to see a group of teachers from very different styles coming together to promote the FMA.
There was lots of good stuff on show:
Alan & Ian doing the Balintawak was outstanding. They started so slowly and really built up what they do with total attention to detail.
Pat's Espada Y Daga: similar to the DP version, but different - true RA.
(A couple of people were having trouble doing some of Pat's knife grips, because his hands are much bigger than theirs) :o
Danny's DP was a good warm up and it was great, standing at the back watching as people became utterly bewildered at the numbers and sequences.
Peter's Bakbakan stuff was great. It was good to see a few small elements put together in different ways to come up with something so useable.
Lucy's disarms were good too. To the point- no messing.
My highlight:
When Ian turned to someone across the room and asked if the blindingly fast demo of the Balintawak groups was "Good enough!" 
Fun was had all round.
Roll on next year.

I was proud to be part of such a unique event, for the first time so many styles under one roof.
The highlight for me was the fact that all the instructors were confident in their own abilities that they did not feel threatened by each other and the best bit was there was no ego's.
We have already discussed that next years event will be even bigger and will run over 2 days.
Thanks to all of those who attended and for those who did not, well you missed what I feel was the best FMA event in the UK so far, but there is always next year.
Great day and an historical day that I feel is setting the standards for FMA in the UK.

Hi All
An awesome day and one that marks a new direction in the promotion of the FMA. Something that I am very proud to be part of.
I can only echo what Tuhon Pat has said. All instructors gave their very best, without feeling threatened and without any ego issues. This really is a major turning point for all. Equally as important, is that all participants really enjoyed the diversity and range of arts and techniques.
I am already looking forward to a bigger and better event next year.

Very true Jon. It was awesome to just get on and do what we all love to do. Simply training in the FMA.
It was great to see you again after many years and I'm glad that you enjoyed the diverse range of systems and techniques taught. A great time was had by all and I am certainly still on a high from the event.
Hope you enjoy the book.

It was an honour for me to see so many great guys just interesting in one thing. promoting the FMA regardless of style. And all of them tried everyones styles too I must admit, I did struggle a bit with them, but that is great, It is good to struggle for a change. 
And for those senior RA guys that did not make it. Shame on you  You missed an historical event that was more than well worth seeing. Just think how much money you could have saved when you consider that to see all of these styles, you would have to travel many thousands of miles, and even then to see them all in the same room would be dam near impossible.
Well, next years is in the planning and it will be even bigger and better, and those who came this year will get first dib's on the places.

Well done lads (and Lucy),
A great day, and yes, a trully historical day!
I believe I finally witnessed the impossible, a group of instructors all willing to stand up infront of each other and teach with no bitching, crying, spitting the dummy and acting the prick.
Not only that, you all payed attention, and joined in when another instructor took their turn.
The day this happens in the Karate/Kenpo worlds will be a miracle.
Well done, best of luck for all future events and that you carry on as you started

I think another point to make would be how great it was to see a good turnout of people willing to look outside the box and try their hand at other styles of FMA.
It was great hearing people talk about similarities and differences and even when I was ear wigging into peoples preferences....they were all different and for different reasons.
People realised it is o.k to talk and debate about the varying styles as we all know people will have their preferences on styles and Instructors, that is why we are all so lucky to be individuals, but it was done without bitching and dismissal of others and nobody could deny they learnt something from everybody regardless of individual preferences.
Deffinately one of the best seminars of the year, no decade, no century for me. Very enjoyable and new friends made all round.
